Institute (AMTI), located in Houston,
Texas, has announced a broad based initiative
that will make highly effective anger management
training programs available nationwide to
individuals and families struggling with the affects
of anger addiction. The scope and power
of these programs represents a breakthrough –
not to mention a significant improvement –
regarding the way anger management training
has traditionally been presented.
"Frankly,
standard anger management models are just
too darn slow,” declared James A. Baker,
founder and CEO of AMTI, and author of The Anger
Busting™ Workbook, the source material
upon which AMTI’s program is based. “Most
programs ask people to go either to a group that
meets once or twice a week for a couple of months,
or to a psychotherapist for weekly sessions that
can last for a year or more. In the meantime,
their spouse or a judge has ordered them to change
now, or else. If you need help with anger,
you need it fast; you need something that will
help you start getting results immediately! So
we developed the Anger Busting™ program.”
The
AMTI’s Anger Busting™ strategy
rests in part upon a creative use of online training
methods, which allows participants to access information
quickly and gain the skills they need in a flexible,
user-friendly format.
“We
offer a 24-lesson, online Anger
Busting™ course that addresses every
issue you would cover in a live course, and then
some,” explained Baker. “You have
to take a test after each lesson and make at least
an 80 to go on to the next lesson. At the end
of the course, you can download a certificate
of completion to give to the court or your boss
or whoever asked you to take the course.”
The online course is only $45 and is accepted
by courts across the country.

Survey Says Date Violence Affects

AUSTIN - More than 27 percent of young Texans
report being victims of physical violence while
dating, according to a survey conducted by the
Texas Council on Family Violence.
